LORD. This phrase may be mean ‘from the youngest to the oldest’, or ‘right across the social spectrum’. The emphasis is on the universality of the knowledge which is the product not just of outward teaching but of the action of the Spirit of God (Isa. 54:13; Joel 3:1; Isa. 11:9).
